Many times, I have received the question about how a resume should be and look to attract the person that has the power to hire you.
Well, in my opinion the CV has only one goal, it is to capture after few seconds of reading it the attention of the person that read it. I usually receive about 50 CV a month so it is not easy to make a choice but I am always looking for the same thing. Do I think that the person that send me her paperwork can be trust and loyal to our culinary team...
I personally choose few years ago to be very creative with my resume and express as much as possible my personality and professionalism into it.
At the end of the day, in our profession only the passion and hard work would make you become successful.
I remember when I was looking to work for Roger Vergé I sent him my resume by fax in the morning and the next day I was waiting for him at the entrance of his kitchen 900 km from home. He was so surprised with my determination to work for him that I got the job on the spot and I did a great run in his kitchen. My only advice is if you want to work for someone do not be shy to show him your motivation to work for him, that is much more important than a piece of paper.
