In my opinion, the food culture in Japan is the finest in the world. That's the dream place for a chef to work in this country. Many stars Chefs open a restaurant in Japan and majority of the time they would say that the quality of they Japanese restaurant is better than the one they have in France. We have a project with my friend Marc to spend few day in Kyoto and only focus on food and wine. I cannot wait for this one...
I was able to go in Japan for a long weekend last week. In fact it's very close from Shanghai, only 2 hours in airplane. I love so much Japan, that's the best country for food lover in my opinion.
I was surprise to see that Japanese dont like peoples taking photos so much so I dont have food photos from my dinners experience but it was amazing.
Kyoto was just extraordinary, just the perfect small beautiful city with so much sophistication. Ladies in Kimono on the street are also part of the tradition.
Today I was invited for helping someone to go to his new apartment. It was the first time I was able to go out of the city and got a good feeling of the suburb. I have to say that I was very surprise with the quality life that people have here. The air much better that what we have in Shanghai and life much more relax, you can feel very fast after just walking in the street. So yes, when you look at the photos today it's not exactly a paradise island but it was much better that what I expected and would love to go back.
Sometimes when I feel that the chef I am working with would feel comfortable I ask and offer him to make couples of photos in his kitchen. Its always A fun time because I tease him and we start to laugh so much...
By the way, His Name is Raphael Kimino , he is the chef of our new Ritz Carlton Macao, coming from Lyon in France and worked for Paul Bocuse.
I love him et also love his food, one of the best chef in Macao for sure...
One of the most wonderful feeling I have in life is to connect with peoples and my camera.
It's not just pressing the button, if the person in front of you dont feel confortable the photo will never be good or look natural. We open a fantastic Hotel in Macao and work very hard but still we have fun in our restaurant. By the way, the name of the restaurant is "Le cafe" a French Brasserie and the French Chef Rafael from Lyon is fantastic.
